How To Donate Your Airline Miles To Support Relief Efforts In Ukraine
People are showing up in a big way for Ukraine by asking a simple question: How can I help? Some people are donating money to support relief efforts, while others are booking Airbnbs as a way to send direct aid to hosts in the country.
Beyond booking an Airbnb or making a cash donation, frequent flyers are also able to donate unused miles through their airline of choice. So today, I’m sharing how to do this and how your donation will be directed to Ukraine.

HOW TO DONATE AIRLINE MILES WITH DELTA
For Delta SkyMiles members, you can donate your SkyMiles to one or more of Delta’s relief partners:
the American Red Cross; and
UNICEF.
Both the American Red Cross and UNICEF are working hard to support those most affected by the crisis in Ukraine. Delta SkyMiles members should be prepared to donate a minimum of 1,000 miles. To donate, be sure to head to Delta’s website.
HOW TO DONATE AIRLINE MILES WITH UNITED
If United is your airline of choice, you can put your MileagePlus miles or dollars to good use by making a donation to one or more of United’s relief partners:
Airlink Flight;
Americares;
the American Red Cross; and
World Central Kitchen.
Your donation will help these relief partners provide food, medicine, and other goods and services directly to the people of Ukraine. To donate, be sure to head to United’s website.
Be prepared to donate a minimum of 1,000 MileagePlus miles. If you plan to donate cash, United will even throw a few bonus miles your way through April 15th. Talk about a win-win.
HOW TO DONATE AIRLINE MILES WITH JETBLUE
For JetBlue TrueBlue members, you can donate your points to one or more of JetBlue’s relief partners:
the American Red Cross;
Americares; and
World Central Kitchen.
Each of the above-mentioned relief partners is working hard to support those most affected by the crisis in Ukraine. JetBlue TrueBlue members can donate between 500 and 5,000 points. To donate, be sure to head the JetBlue’s website.
HOW TO DONATE AIRLINE MILES WITH AMERICAN
If American is your airline of choice, you can put your AAdvantage miles or dollars to good use in support of Ukraine. This March, all AAdvantage miles donated through American’s Miles for Social Good program will be sent to American’s relief partner:
Airlink.
Airlink is currently supporting the transportation of assessment and emergency response teams to Poland, Hungary, Romania, and Moldova. To donate AAdvantage miles, be sure to head to American’s website.
If you prefer to make a cash donation, American has also partnered with UNICEF to help ensure that Ukraine’s children have access to safe water, nutrition, health care, education and protection. To donate, be sure to head to UNICEF’s website.
